Field investigations – HVSR measurements at the location of the Šibenik accelerometer and a demonstration of the work to the Norwegian delegation as part of the CRONOS project

In Šibenik on 28 October 2022, a meeting was held as part of the CRONOS project, which was attended by representatives of donors within the Financial Mechanisms of the European Economic Area (EEA) and the Financial Mechanisms of the Kingdom of Norway 2014-2021. (Ásdis Jónsdóttir, Elena Christogeorgaki and Margunn Instefjord), representatives of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Norway in the Republic of Croatia (Homma Latif and Maja Dodić), representatives of the National Focal Point (Ministry of Regional Development and Funds of the European Union; Jelena Franotović and Branka Lovrić) and employees of the CRONOS project (Davor Stanko, Mario Gazdek and Jakov Stanislav Uglešić). At the meeting, a short report of the completed work was presented and the goals and results of the CRONOS project were presented. A tour of the Museum of the City of Šibenik (9:30-10:30) and the Cathedral of St. Jakov (10:30-11:30) was organized and a demonstration of the work of the new Tromino devices for performing HVSR measurements was held. Trominos were acquired from the funds of the CRONOS project. HVSR measurements are used to determine the ground/building fundamental frequency, one of the key parameters used in earthquake engineering. Also, a short presentation was held about the accelerograph (a device for measuring ground acceleration) installed in the Museum of the City of Šibenik.
