Collaborators and employees of the CRONOS project, Iva Lončar and Bruno Mravlja, recently participated in a seismological-geological workshop held in Paris on May 25th and 26th, 2023. The workshop was organized by the Institute for Radiological Protection and Nuclear Safety (IRSN). The main topic of the workshop was the MW6.4 Petrinja earthquake that struck the Banovina region in December 2020. Within the framework of the CRONOS project, collaborator Iva Lončar is using this earthquake as a case study for her research and methodology development.

During the workshop, research results for the mentioned area were presented, along with new seismological, geological, and geotechnical methods. Participation in this workshop also aimed to enhance the expertise of the project collaborators. Iva also delivered a comprehensive presentation on the seismicity of Croatia and the seismological network in the region.

In addition to providing opportunities for professional development, this workshop also facilitated the strengthening of international collaboration. Mathieu Causse, who is also a collaborator in Component 2 of the CRONOS project, attended the event as well.
